We are looking for
Rödabergsskolan in Stockholm is looking for an engaged, relationship-building, and structured Study and Career Counselor (SYV) for a parental substitute position for 11 months, starting in April with the possibility of extension. The position is 100%.
With us, you work in a broad and dynamic school environment where students from preschool to grade 9, including preparatory groups, adapted primary school, and special needs groups, are part of your assignment. Here you will have the opportunity to work closely with both younger and older students and truly make a difference across all school stages.
Your role
As a SYV with us, you are a central part of the school's student health team and have an important role in the promoting and preventive work. You coordinate the entire school's study and career guidance and work closely with teaching staff, school management, and student health.
Job responsibilities
- Implementation of individual and group-based study and career guidance for students in K-9. Special focus on students in preschool, grade 3, grade 6, grade 8, and grade 9.
- Coordinate and develop the school's study and career guidance work, both overall and in daily operations.
- Collaborate closely with school management, teachers, student health, and guardians.
- Support students in high school choices, internships, and further study paths.
- We expect you to be an active part of the school's EHT and contribute to the school's overall student health work.
We are looking for someone who has a strong student focus and thrives in an environment where you meet students of different ages, backgrounds, and conditions. You are positive, solution-oriented, and relationship-oriented - and you appreciate a creative working method where structure and flexibility go hand in hand. You have good collaboration skills and can create good relationships as the work involves many contact points with students, staff, and guardians. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
You enjoy working with younger students but feel equally confident in guiding older students in their future study and career choices.
Your qualifications and experience
Requirements:
The following is required for the position:
- Theoretical knowledge in career choices and guidance
- Knowledge and skills in conversation methodology
- Methods for choice, decision-making, and proven experience.
We are looking for someone who has a degree in study and career counseling.
Meritorious:
Experience working in primary school K–9. Experience working in adapted primary school.
You have expertise that includes deep and current knowledge of educational paths and systems, labor market, working life, and professions.
